I’m not even really referring to political agendas “corrupting society”, although that is an issue. The much larger one is that culture, like wood or fresh water, is not a bottomless well of resource, and will completely run out if exploited irresponsibly. Once our sacred cultural values and figures are completely deconstructed, reconstructed, and worn into dust, (likely even before that) those very same corporations and industries will start reaching into the global marketplace and begin doing the very same thing to all the other world’s cultures, until eventually nothing is left but shades of McCapitalism.
