Make sure he has all the information at hand when you rely on him to make a decision. If you're long-distance, he's operating at a serious information deficit. If you want him to pick out your clothes, he's going to need some idea of what you have. Take pictures of your wardrobe, and describe the temperature outside. If he gives you instructions that don't quite work (because you forgot to tell him how cold it is/that you're going to spend the day at the library, and he's instructed you to plug your ass and put on a cocktail dress), find a compromise. Find a way to submit to him, and remind yourself often that your submission needs to be an active thing.
